Talia Carpenter, 5th Grade Reading Teacher
Born and raised in St. Petersburg, I’m embarking on my 11th year with Pinellas County Schools. For the last three years, I served as the K-5 Literacy Coach at Perkins because reading is super LIT!
But this year, I’ve packed my books and binders because I’m heading to 5th grade where I’ll be joining a group of fantastic educators, serving as 1 of 2 of the 5th grade reading teachers.
I believe in cultivating meaningful relationships with students, teachers and families as well as within our community. Because I believe that it takes a village, I strive for parent engagement and support while welcoming open communication. I’m an FSU Alumna; dog mama and I LOVE to travel. I will have seen over 30 countries by the end of the year and I look forward to telling my students about my adventures and experiences.
